There have been many number of films made on Bangalore Underworld these days and every other day you see a film being launched which has a story related to the underworld. In these days when there is a mad rush to produce films on Bangalore Underworld, it is commendable that director Chaithanya and writer Agni Sridhar have made an effort to present a film with hundred percent authenticity and honesty.

The special feature of Chaitanya directed new film Aa Dinagalu is that it has based on an incident happened that happened in the year 1986 when a innocent young man and his friends forays into underworld to save a love affair. The incident finds place in a popular book Daadagiriya Dinagalu written by Agni Sridhar. Agni Sridhar was one of the leading underworld personalities during the early eighties when the Bangalore Underworld was controlled by notorious dons Kotwal Ramachandra and Jayaraj. And in the highly rated book Aa Dinagalu, Sridhar chronicles the incidents of underworld as just an observer and objective analyst without any trace of emotion and exaggeration.
Chaitanya has followed the same pattern that was appreciated in Sridhar's book. He has scripted the film with the assistance of well known writer and actor Girish Karnad. The music is composed by well known music director Ilayaraja is the highlight of the film and the background score is terrific. H.C. Venu's cinematography is really mind blowing.

Chaitanya has taken care to shoot Aa Dinagalu in exact locations where the real incident had occurred. And the powerful star cast of the film provides him apt support. While new faces Chethan and Archana look refreshingly fresh, it is veteran artists like Bollywood artists Atul Kulakarni, Ashish Vidyarthi and our own Sharath Lohithshwa who have done their best. And Girish Karnad has also excelled in his role.

Aa Dinagalu is a must see film for all Kannada film lovers who want to see better made films.

Two songs of the film have been written by journalist Sumana Kittoor, who had worked for Agni tabloid previously.
