What happens when power star Puneeth Rajkumar and powerful actor Prakash Rai come on screen. That's going to be mega power project for producer and super powers on screen for the audience. This is an excellent action drama. There is a struggle throughout the film. The screen stealers are Puneeth, Prakash and Anuradha Mehta. The music an additional booster dose for the film the camera work is very clever and compact.

Producer Dheera Rockline Venkatesh known for right pick for his remakes in Kannada has made the right selection. 'Okkadu' in Telugu and 'Gilli' in Tamil is 'Ajay' in Kannada.

What is appreciable is before the start of the film 'Ajay'. Rockline Venkatesh bringing the clippings of muhurut and the first stanza of 'Bangaradha Manushya' song Nagu Ngutha Nali…. The theatre comes to a pin drop silence when they look at Dr.Raj in white pant and red shirt singing the song. Right thought by right person indeed for the icon of Kannada cinema!

Ajay is a famous Kabbadi player. His father is a straightforward cop. He has a fond sister and very affectionate mother. His intention in life is get a cop job via sports quota. He is opting for national championship in Kabbadi. His arrival to Hubli to take part in the national event takes the secondary position. Thanks to 'I Love's you' the powerful Prakash Rai who can suck the blood of anyone to meet his ends. He is the ruler of Hubli city with very big battalion of bad boys behind him and his mother puffing 'Chutta' is a lady with strong will power.

In this bad city is Paddu (Anuradha Mehta) who is the 'I Love's you' of Prakash Rai. His intention is to marry Paddu. When two of her brothers do not agree they are put down by Prakash Rai. He is so cruel. Paddu not ready to lose her parents agree to marry Prakash Rai. But Paddu's parents are not interested in marriage. But things work out against to their wish and Prakash Rai makes arrangements for marriage. A day before the marriage Paddu's father (Srinath) makes all arrangements for her to fly to Australia to live in her uncle's residence and study further.

The film takes interesting turn now. The escapades saga! Prakash in the day light draws Paddu near Kittur Rani Chennamma circle and this is where he comes into another high voltage electrifying youngster Ajay. Ajay takes Paddu in the motorbike of Prakash Rai and the scores of action scenes and humble effort of Ajay to send Paddu to Australia follow.

Ajay and Paddu come to Bangalore and he is followed by Prakash Rai and his gang. The elder brother of Prakaha Rai is Home Minister and things work out very dangerous for Ajay and Paddu. Ajay keeps Paddu in his own house and it is reels after his father who is looking for youths wanted by Home Minister (his son and Paddu) comes to know. Ajay challenges the strength of Prakash Rai. The stage is set between the two powerful. In a close fight between the two Ajay puts down Prakash Rai.

Ajay is also Ajay in his Kabbadi championship and the love that blossoms with Paddu a few reels before the curtains come down also join him canceling her fly to Australia.

You have action scenes that are sufficient for two films in 'Ajay'. The power is not missing. The flow of narration is interesting. There are very quick moments and you sit on the edge of the seats for many captivating situations on screen.

What best we can expect from Puneeth Rajkumar? He has given that. His screen presence, dialogue delivery and ruffian looks in this film make him go very easy with the role. There is a stiff challenge for him in this film. That has come from Prakash Rai.
Anuradha Mehta is as cool as butter scotch ice cream. She looks very good in the song number En Chanda… Shreya Goshal has sung this song very melodiously. Rama Antha Krishna Antha, Eyaithu Nanagidina…. And Yene Agali sung by Mallikarjun is well placed.

Vasu's cinematography is superb. The top angle shots especially in the En chanda….and in the musky mornings he steals the show.

None of the action lovers can miss this film.
