‘Ram Naam Sathya Hai’ – Lakshman Sriram’s singing is ‘Adbuth Hai’. Singing is his breath. If he cannot sing he cannot live. He is ‘one man musical Army’. Lakshman Sriram with four decades of singing is a rare combination of stalwart singers like Mukeshji, Rafisaab, Kishoreda etc. For his expertise in singing (of devotional song Yeno Daaha Yeno Moha…..) the icon of Kannada cinema Dr.Rajkumar offered garland and hugged him.

Lakshman Sriram met the film media in Bangalore to announce his program on 15th January – ‘Ramu remembers Raju’ (Raju is the original name of Raj Kapoor, Rajalakshmi is Lakshman Sriram’s wife, Raju is his younger brother and now his close pal in music is Gururaj of Sound of music). The best 16 compositions of ace music directors Shanker Jaikishen sung by inimitable singer Mukeshji will be reproduced by Lakshman Sriram at ADA Ranga Mandira at 6.30 pm. This musical evening also give tribute to the lyricists.

This is a Karaoke Musical night. For the tunes already in stock Lakshman Sriram adjust his voice and give the immense pleasure for the music lovers.

At the green house restaurant Lakshman Sriram a resident of Atlanta in USA gave the taste of his voice and most of the media persons who were supposed to go to another assignment stayed back. That is the power of music and the quality of lilting tunes of yesteryears. Lakshman Sriram’s Shivaranjini Raga’s integration song in which he took off from a Telugu film song ‘Shivaranjini’ and scattered to Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. Moved by the quality of Lakshman Sriram a senior cinema photographer K.N.Nageshkumar presented Rs.100 to him. Reacting to this Lakshman Sriram told that this is a wonderful honor for him and wish to keep this compliment for ever in my life informed Lakshman Sriram.

Lakshman Sriram who is singing from the age of 10 remembers more than 500 songs. He is called as Random Access Memory in USA. He has no formal training in music but he grew up listening to music. In his younger days he sung for ‘Sarasavani’ orchestra troupe in Bangalore. He got the CD tracks from Mr Anirudh who specializes in music san voice or Karaoke. In every week end he performs in USA. From Austin one Mr Anwar calls him up and in the early mornings or late nights and ask him to sing over telephone the famous song that describe what is life all about. 

Retired army personnel from USA Lakshman Sriram’s wife Rajalakshmi is a professor in mathematics. He has two sons of 19 and 10 years age studying in USA.

Lakshman Sriram’s elder brother Venkatesh Prasad present at Green House remembered the younger days of his brother. He was called as ‘Sapat Rama’ (a typical Iyengari scolding). But how Lakshman Sriram came up in his life is remarkable says Venkatesh Prasad. Going to Ram Mandir next to 8th Cross Malleswaram Ganesha Temple Laksman Sriram was immense listener. From listening he became a singer of repute today recalled Venkatesh Prasad.
