KIRAT
BHATTAL, GELEYA HEROINE
Model
Enters Kannada Films
Interview
- CNB
Date - 01st June 2007
Kirat
Bhattal is making a debut in Kannada film `Geleya’
directed by Harsha who is a well known dance choreographer
of Kannada films. He is getting the break as a director
through this film which is produced by Kadur Umesh, Basavaraj
and Naveen Manu Gangadhar.
Kirat Bhattal
has already participated in major shooting of the film and is all
set to go to Rameshwaram to shoot the songs of the film. Kirat has
already worked in Tamil film `Vattaaram’ which had Arya in
the leading role. She played the role of actor Napolean’s
daughter in the film. Though the film dealt with the issue of sale
of illegal arms in the underworld, Kirat’s presence did add
some glamour quotient in the film. Before that she had also acted
in a Telugu film `Dongodi Pelli’ in which she had teamed up
with a new director Ratna.
Kirat was a
model before she got her first break in films. She had debuted in
the Lakme adverts with Raima Sen. Then Kirat modelled for Sri Kumaran
Silks in Chennai and then she was noticed by producer and director
Sharan who selected her as the heroine for `Vattaaram’.
Kirat had also
signed Desiya Nedunchalai 47 which was earlier named NH47 with Dhanush,
which is set to be released in December 2007. Since only films with
Tamil names qualify for the governmental subsidy, the name has been
changed to DN 47.
However, the
project has been currently stalled, but might start following the
finish of Dhanush’s latest film Polladhavan. Since NH 47 has
remained inactive for about three months, Kirat was approached by
the Geleya producers. And the teen aged girl immediately agreed
to give the call sheet.
Kirat is also
brand ambassador for various products including Lakme,
Claeres, Fair and Lovely, Motorola and Macleans.
