Kamal
The India’s best actor Kamal Hassan declined to enter into politics while speaking to meet the press program at Press Club of Bangalore on Tuesday morning. For one hour Kamal Hassan batted many questions on various topics.

Here are the highlights of meet the press with Kamal Hassan:

  • I am honored today to be in this place. Karnataka has always shown affection and patted my films.
  • I remember my days of Kokila Kannada film, Dr.B.V.Karanth, G.V.Iyerji, the motorbike ride I used to have with B.S.Rangaji. For my first production ‘Raja Paravai’ the cameraman was from Girish Kasaravalli camp. The shooting days of Pushpaka Vimana and Swathi Muthyam in Bangalore were too good. The international films like Chaplin and Bergmen I used to see in Bangalore film festivals.
  • Kamal, RameshFor me Oscar award is not important. The standard is not world standard. It is an American award. Cannes is better. The one billion people award in India the national award is very much important for me. You wish me for that not for the Oscar award.
  • The 30 percent of shooting has been completed for ‘Murudhanayaka’. It will start again. Now things are moving in right direction. It is an historical film. Dates back to 1857.
  • I am doing a film in Kannada – Rama Shama Bhama. Shruthi, Urvashi, Daisy Bopanna, Ramesh Aravind are also in the film. It is an updated version of  ‘Sathi Leelavathi’, there will be more comedy in it.
  • Ramesh Aravind is also from the camp of KBji. Had Ananthakrishnan been alive today we would have sought his help for the script.
  • In Tamil I am doing ‘Vetayadu Velayaadu’
  • Hollywood people should ask me to do a film. I can’t vouch for it. For me doing an Indian film in Hollywood and then showing them our work is important.
  • KamalThe longest story sitting I am having since 17 years with Manirathnamji. It is still going on.
  • The technician in me guided me to become a director. The ranking to my acting in the position of director is roughly around 4 or five out of 10.
  • Karnataka respects the dubbing version I like it.
  • In the digital cinema we are at the learning stage. We are a bit slow! The trial and error method is happening. The error is probably more.
  • I am a happy man generally. But the swing in life is interest for me. To be always happy is boring.
  • In acting I do not cross parameters.

The secretary of Press Club of Bangalore Sadashiva Shenoy welcomed Dr.Kamal Hassan. President of Press Club of Bangalore Arakere Jayaram, Ramesh Aravind, Producer K.Manju were also present
