Hailing from an aristocratic family and a developed nation USA, ‘JANU’ is the precise selection for ‘Ms California’ not only because she hails from California and being spinster but because of her aptitude and her attitude.

Here are the excerpts of a telephonic interview Chitraloka mega portal had recently with the bubbling and unassuming Janu:
 

• Can you give a quick recap of your life so far?

I am an American staying in California. I finished my graduation on my birthday May 21st from University of San Francisco in international business. I am also learning Japanese language. My parents are from Singapore. My father is specialist in Hearth management and my mother is a doctor. I worked on a part time basis for an agency on Human management in the marketing division. I am 5 feet 4 inches tall medium build. This is my 6th visit to India and I have an aunt in Chennai.

• Do you have any background of acting?

No. I have sung songs for a CD brought out by Mr Ramprasad. I know the Indian and Western music. I was in to cultural activities in my college days. I am familiar with ball room dance.

• How did they trace you for ‘Ms California’?

It is through Mr Ramprasad who was staying in California.

• What was your reaction after you got selected for the lead role?

I was really excited. I felt that I am the right selection for the role. It suits me.

• What is your nature and what kind of role suits you?

I like aggressive roles. But in real life I have the mind set that adjust to any given particular situation. Human management is what important for me.

• Have you seen any of the Indian films?

I see quite a lot of Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai films. I have not seen any Kannada film.

• What is the preparation you have undergone for this ‘Ms California’?

I had sitting with director Kodlu Ramakrishna who is very nice and makes me to understand everything. He has told me that 40 percent of shooting will be in my place that is California. The remaining 60 percent shooting takes place in Karnataka. I was given reading of my dialogues and dance master Raghu is teaching me dance. I am by hearting the dialogues. Dubbing my own voice will be difficult.

• Have you put any conditions?

No I have not made anything. I am expecting a good production, it is a cute story. It is as if written for me. I have to give results now. I am using my own wardrobe for the film.
