According
to my opinion there is no need to go to college to learn.
From the day today experiences we can catch up with lot
of knowledgeable things to learn. Time sense is what I
have learnt from my husband Dr.Rajkumar. When the shooting
car never used to turn up at the right time he used to
go to shooting in cycle rickshaw. I was telling him when
the producer has not sent the vehicle why do you bother.
It is my responsible job to be present at the exact time
of shooting he was replying.
For
my hubby learning was a top priority. For 'Mohini Basmasura'
he learnt Bharatanatyam very quickly and his dance performance
in the film was a well discussed at that time. He never
used to allow me to his room when the shooting was on.
One day I just peeped in to find out the practice he was
making before a huge mirror. For reaching to perfection
one has to do practice like this he replied.
He
used to mug up the dialogue before his shot. You give
any lengthy dialogue it was so easy for him. He has got
splendid memory power.
It
was in the Gubbi company days. Rajkumar used to do the
role of Sadhu. He did that role for many years. Once he
said he is not interested in doing that role. Give me
the role of 'Gopichand' Rajkumar asked. You have to remember
lot of dialogues it is not possible was complaint on him.
Give me the role and then see he replied. When he performed
in that role everyone was perplexed at his capacity.
In
'Ramayana' stage play Srikantamurthy was doing the role
of lord Srirama. He was absent for a few days and Rajkumar
performed the role of lord Srirama. When Srikantamurthy
came back Rajkumar was back to Bharatha role. After a
few show people started talking Rajkumar suits the role
of lord Rama. Srikantamurthy immediately asked Rajkumar
to play lord Rama role in future on stage.
To
see my husband in the role of Sri Basavanna is my wish
still pending. My father had once told me that Rajkumar
suits perfectly to the role of Sri Basavanna. I had that
in mind and tried out two times to see my husband in that
role. That could not materialize.
Not
caring for his health Rajkumar used to work in the interest
of the producers. He met with a small injury during the
shooting of 'Shravana Banthu' for his eye. I wanted to
cancel shooting and take him to eye doctor. 'You are also
producer. You should not think of canceling the shooting'
he told me. If I am the producer I would have cancelled
the shooting because health is more important than wealth,
I said. For a producer his money is more important he
told me and took some treatment on the sets itself.
One
he fell down from 35 feet height from a horse. From then
on I always used to accompany him. Keeping me in dark
for the film 'Huliya Halina Mevu' he took part in a jumping
scene. I came to know about it at the editing table.
See
you next Tuesday. Namasthe.
