I always thought in my life we should not yield to any pressure or tension to come up in life. Instead of scratching the head for obstacles we have to convert it as opportunities.

Look at me. Today the world has changed drastically. Bigwigs have studied in their life and come up. Where as I have studied only upto 9th standard. I feel it is the experience is the real 'mentor' in our life.

When I was a year old baby in the cradle my father in law had come to the house. In the presence of everyone he tucked one rupee in my hand and declared that I will be the daughter in law of his house. In case anyone marry they will be the second husband to me he had told. As I grew up I came to know about it. When I was thirteen years my father arranged for marriage with the boy my father in law declared - Muthuraj later Rajkumar. In the traditional and customary family I was told by my parents that I should adjust to everything in in-law's house. The parents house is shut for me if I make mistakes is the advice made to me. Before I got married my mother in law once asked me whether I am prepared for the marriage. I said yes.

Dr. Rajkumar, Smt. Parvarthamma RajkumarI obeyed to my in laws and parents. Had I made up my mind I could have studied. I studied up to 9th standard when I got married. I learnt all the work in my in law house. I was given utmost care. My mother in law taught me how to cook. My husband's sister use to take me to bath. As I learnt slowly I became inevitable for the house. At this time Dr.Rajkumar was acting in dramas. He got a call to film acting and I had to pack luggage to Madras. I learnt Tamil in Madras went to market used to cook and there were regular guests that I had to take care. At a young age I encountered lot of responsibilities.

Once I told my husband Dr.Rajkumar that I have to see my parents. We came to Saligrama and my father told why can't you stay back. Raj agreed to this when my father told. But he called me and said that I have to come back with him. I am not able to live without you he said. I was perplexed. He told that "I am intelligent enough to handle the situation". Giving an excuse I got ready to leave with my husband to my place.

As a matter of fact I learnt more things from my husband and he is my Guru. According to me when the difficulties come we get to know our power and strength. A small operation had to be conducted for my husband. I had no money. There was a little amount lying in the bank. I went to Bank for the first time signed a cheque leaf and withdrew Rs.3000. That was my first transaction. After so many years of this incident I jumped to production of films. At this time a closet of our family Mr Venugopal advised me that I should have the "hold" in everything otherwise it will be very difficult. Instead of others exercising control you be the remote control. This particular advise has played very important role for me in the film profession.
