The
Sarkar ka Puraskar for remake films at the cost of our
rich heritage and culture. The Karnataka government in
a fortnight is announcing 100 percent entertainment tax
exemption for remake films. With this the remake lobby
of producers has won a war against original story film
makers! Where we are going to head? Time will only answer.
According
to reliable sources the serious film makers have disagreed
with the government announcement. Why did the government
not come forward to give subsidy to remake films? They
can as well do it and spoil the whole culture and heritage
of Kannada and Karnataka is the opinion the Chitraloka
has gathered from here and there.
The
first one to raise voice against ET exemption for remake
films was Mr Indrajith Lankesh. The government step is
wrong in allocating the remake film. We would be killing
the story writer, music director, dialogue writer, lyricists
etc. For the name sake a director and artistes would get
benefit. This is absolutely rubbish says Indrajith Lankesh
speaking to media persons late in the night on Wednesday
at Rejoice Auditorium in Malleswaram.
The
information minister B.Shivaram announced the 100 percent
ET exemption for remake films at a media briefing at Kanteerava
studio in Bangalore on Wednesday morning. On the pending
matters of Film City at Hesaraghatta and Film Academy
the government is taking decision soon said information
minister.
After
inaugurating the Ad-Floor, High Tech office, spruced up
garden and Roof Garden the minister spoke to the media
persons on the above issues.
Ad-Floor
is 40x20 dimension prepared to fit the advertisement film
makers. This is an air conditioned floor. A special wall
has been developed for this purpose. When there is no
shooting this can be converted to a hall to conduct meetings
and seminars.
The
high tech office is with a dimension of 45x22 is developed
to suit the purposes of film and television film makers.
The
spruced up garden with Band Set, Moghul style Mantap,
colorful bridge, Cindrella Chariot, green carpet, fountain
etc. For the periodic film makers there are adequate provisions
here. In the modern style the roof garden has come up
at Kanteerava studio.

the 100 percent Entertainment Tax exemption to remake
films (that was not in existence) the surfers can send
