for subsidy or awards for such remake films.
The
newly elected President Sandesh Nagaraj addressing the media
at Atria Hotel on Thursday night stressed that this time
we have gone with united strength to the government. All
the three sectors are taken into confidence while preparing
this list he said.
Answering
questions Sandesh Nagaraj has said that the increase in membership
fee to Rs.50000 is to provide certain benefits to the new producers.
The existing members need not pay this amount he clarified.
We
have no qualms with the non Kannada films. They are like
our guests. Like how a guest is treated we give them hospitality.
But they cannot claim the guest house is their own Sandesh
Nagaraj made it clear in his address.
LET
SATHYU PLAY WITH HIS CHILDREN
Coming
down heavily on the statements made by M.S.Sathyu the
quality subsidy committee chairman Sandesh Nagaraj totally
condemned the attitude of Sathyu. He has no notable contribution
to Kannada film industry. Why can’t he accept the challenge
of the producer? Let him give assurance of the return
of money. Subsidy has to be given to farmers and not film
industry why should he sit in the award committee? He
should have resigned on this ground. Can he work like
how farmer’s leader Prof.Nanjundaswamy worked? It is impossible
for him to do something for farmers. It is time for him
to play with his grand and great grand children. In case
the government appoints M.S.Sathyu for any of the film
committees the Kannada filmdom disagree on his appointment.
We would stage a strong protest on appointment of Sathyu.
The government is targeted ultimately from such irresponsible
statements made by Sathyu. It should not appoint such
retired persons to head the committees Sandesh Nagaraj
emphasized strongly.
On
the present censor board regulations, meeting with the
newspaper and electronic media heads the Kannada Film
Producers Association is going to convene a meeting and
seek their support in their objectives.
The
Kannada Cinema Workers Federation members B.Krishnamurthy
expressed that the steps of Sandesh Nagaraj would benefit
the cine workers also.
The
committee members of KFPA were present at the media address.
