KannadaprabhaThe No.1 crown for the highly reputed film supplement goes to ‘Chitraprabha’ of Kannada Prabha (published from Bangalore) - sister concern of Express Publications Madurai Limited according to the National Readership Survey of 2005. This is among the top 20 supplements of the country. 59 percent of readers catch ‘Chitra Prabha’ every Friday and 54 percent pick Bombay Times (Published from Mumbai) the ranking in the statistics say. National Readership Survey Council (NRSC) is an autonomous division of Audit Bureau of Circulation (www.auditbureau.org). 

Express Publications another vernacular ‘Dinamani Tamil newspaper supplements “Elanyar Malar and Velli Mani” (published from Chennai) occupy the position 3 and 4 with a percentage of 54 and 52. The Kreeda Prabha brought out by Kannada Prabha on every Wednesday is in the 8th position with 41 percent.

The national readership survey 2005 is the largest survey of its kind in the world. With samples of 2,61,000 house- to- house interview of all publications have been incorporated to arrive at this ranking. The readership of supplement of dailies was measured in top 8 metros – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkota, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad. The highest of topical interest among English dailies was education and career guides. Films and Sports in the vernacular dailies topped the chart. 

The methodology of NRSC is to give better representation to each pocket of the country. 

Chitraloka mega portal wish the team of ‘Chitra Prabha’ (that is as old as the prestigious newspaper Kannada Prabha) on the new crown and glory achieved.
