Kannada film industry's promising writer Ranganath who has also worked as a co-director of many films for directors like Sadhu Kokila and Shivamani is now an independent director. His first directorial venture "Gulama' was launched recently in the Kanteerava Studios. This film is produced by Ramu Enterprises which has been following a practice of launching its new film just around the time when one of the films produced by the banner is getting released. Ghulama had a gala launch just a few days before "Gooli' was released all around the state.
Prajwal Devaraj, Sonu and Biyanka are in the key roles. It may be just a coincidence, but Prajwal's father Devaraj was the lead actor in many films produced by Ramu. The first film that brought together Ramu and Devaraj was titled as "Golibar' which turned out to be a hit.
Rangantha who has changed his name as Tushar Ranganath is realising his dream of a decade to become a director. Though he had joined the film industry as a writer and an assistant director he had always focused on becoming a director. And Ranganath says he is very happy that producer Ramu has given him a break as a writer and also as a director. In this film he has many responsibilities besides directing the film. He has also written the lyrics for the songs of the film. A confident Ranganath said that his film will bear the stamp of his talents. Guru Kiran is the music director of this film while Shekhar Chandru is the cameraman. The film will be shot for seventy days.
'Inthi Ninna Preethiya' fame Sonu is one of the heroines. Another herone Biyanka said that her role has many shades.
Prajwal says that his role in "Ghulama' is different from all the films he had acted so far.
