The
Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has started some initiatives
to put an end to the present crisis where in a large section
of film producers have decided to boycott film production
activities for a year. A meeting of film producers, exhibitors,
directors, artists and cine technicians and workers has
been called on Thursday evening to sort out the problems
facing the Kannada film industry.
H.D. Gangaraj, President of the Karnataka Film Chamber
of Commerce said that the producers have taken this decision
on their own without bringing it to the notice of the
film chamber. "The film chamber has forums to resolve
these types of conflicts. But the recent crisis has emanated
because some decisions have been taken by film producers
without any consultations with the chamber. However, we
are now seriously interested to resolve this problem.
I have established contact with Actor and Member of Parliament
Ambareesh and other senior producers and have requested
them to sit across and find a negotiated settlement of
this problem. A meeting has been called by the film chamber
on Thursday (5 th October) and I am sure something positive
will emerge' said Gangaraj.
Meanwhile, Actor
Sudeep who was to start his shooting of his new film '73, Shanthi
Nivasa' has not been permitted to start shooting on Vijayadashami
day as he had planned. He has not been given permission to start
the shooting.
