Actor Tabala Naani of Matha and Eddelu Manjunatha fame was detained inside the Parappana Agrahara central prison for a strange reason. While shooting for Sanju Weds Geetha inside the prison, the seal on his arm was erased due to which prison authorities did not let him out.

Visitors to the prison are marked with a seal to identify them from the inmates. Srinagar Kitty, Avinash, Rangayana Raghu, Harish Raj, Tabala Naani and other actors were shooting for the film directed by Nagshekar inside the prison compound last week. All of them had the mark punched on their arms.

In one particular scene, the mark on Naani's arm had to be erased as it was visible on screen. Producer Vijay Kumar had informed the prison authorities that the mark was being erased for this reason. But the problem arose when pack up was called for the day.

While the other actors and technicians were let out, the security did not allow Tabala Naani to go out. They were not convinced that Naani was an actor as they demanded why there was no seal on his arm. A few months ago, during the shooting of the film Parole inside the prison, an inmate had escaped along with the film crew. The prison authorities were therefore very strict with their dealings.

Even well-known actors like Kitty and Avinash had the seal on their arms. But Naani had to wait inside the prison for more than 20 minutes as the producer tried to convince them that permission was sought to erase the mark. It was only after he showed them the permission letter than Naani was 'released.' After the incident of the under trial escaping, each and every person including celebrities get the seal punched on their arms if they are entering the prison for shooting or any other purpose. They are warned not to wash the seal until they are out of the prison compound.
