CALIFORNIA COMPLETE - Slated for August release



The shooting of 'Ms California' Kannada film is complete. This is at the post -production work. The coincidence is that the fifty percent shooting of the film has been completed in the hero Diganth's native place Malnad - Thirthahalli and surroundings. The remaining fifty percent is shot in heroine Janu's place California.

Brimming with happiness director Kodlu Ramakrishna with some of the team members - Dattanna, Diganth, Janu, Jayanthi, Sharat Babu, Bhavya, Mithila and Manjula spoke to the media persons at Green House Restaurant on Saturday evening. The CEO of the film Ramprasad was absent due to ill health.

Kodlu Ramakrishna thanked from producer Ravi Dattatreya to everyone for setting up good hospitality, atmosphere and locations for shooting. He saluted Janu and her parents as they have give wonderful treatment. Kodlu remembered the beauty contest held in California in which around 500 audience were there. 8 countries beauties participated and five countries judges were there in the panel he recalled. In the 18 days shoot we used to travel 150 kilometers from our place of living to place of shooting. Besides California, San Francisco we have shot the film in 25 beautiful locales. This is an unforgettable production team for me. For the patchwork scene Janu had come all the way from US spending nearly Rs.4 lakhs on her own. She is there in nearly 65 scenes out of 75 scenes in the film and she is sure to get state award forecasted Kodlu Ramakrishna. Pointing his remark on Len Grover who has acted in 'Miss California' Kodlu said he is good looking than some of the heroes in Kannada.

This movie is an entertainer. I played myself. There was lot of fun informed Janu.

Diganth is immensely happy for many reasons. First time he is going to US that too in his first film and shooting taking place in his hometown, the wonderful treatment given at Janu's residence that was more than five star hotel treatment put him in happiness. This is a lifetime opportunity. I have worked hard said Diganth.

There was a very nice atmosphere in the shooting. I have not been taken to US - why do they want oldies there - Dattanna joked. Janu and Diganth expressions are good. There is definitely a new feel for the audience. Sandeep Malani explaining Janu the meaning counts a lot. Sandeep contribution to Janu in emoting is vital. I have already told Janu that she is running for a national award. Diganth could be nicknamed as a 'Handsome Hero' Dattanna patted the young hero. In some of the scenes we have shot there was competition amongst us to beat each other in performance. There is definitely a cultural shock in this film. While 'America America' had two levels, 'Miss California' has one more extra level Dattanna added.

The same sincerity and respect I had seen in my days was seen in the young artistes - Diganth, Janu and Sowmya in this film. There was healthy competition. We worked with zeal and enthusiasm said Jayanthi the top actress.

For me it was nothing new in the role said Bhavya. She complimented Sandeep Malani when he showed Janu how to do 'Urulu Seve'. He has helped her a lot said Bhavya.

Sharat Babu the senior actor of over 250 films in south Indian languages was the highlight of 'Miss California' briefing. This film has set a record already. Indian portions of three scenes have been shot in USA. The script, screenplay, dialogue and director are perfect. In east and west it is the east that is the best for me. On a pertinent issue there is authentic observation. The locations selected - San Francisco, Malnad regions hills and houses are excellent. I never felt that I was out of home. There was no confusion, no problem. It is the story that touched me. I always attach love and affection towards my country and tradition 100 percent. The role was made for me. Diganth and Janu are like any other seasoned artistes. They have shown their grit and determination in their debut very well. They have ability to stay in films for a long period appreciated the senior actor Sharat Babu.

Another supporting actor in the film Swastik Shanker said he has not seen the producer. But I have taken the remuneration for the first time in my career. I normally don't take remuneration when I act. For this pay packet I have got I distributed it among my friends said Swastik Shanker.
