Sharmila Mandre had decided earlier to opt for films of substance and only chose roles that gave her space to show off her talents. She preferred to wait than take up films that came her way. Though she was not seen in any Kannada films for more than year, her decision to accept films of quality has paid off. She is now seen in Tamil film
"Mirattal' in which she is teamed up with Bangalore Boy Vinay. Sharmila had invited few of her friends and media personalities for a special show of Miratta in PVR Multiplex on the day of the release.
One thing that was clear to people who knew her was that she has changed for the better. Her glamour quotient has surely shot up. She's more bubbly, more chirpy and more spontaneous.
Her debut in Tamil Mirattal has opened well and she will take up more films in Kollywood.
After working in many successful Kannada films like Krishna, Navagraha and others Sharmila had lost out doing many non descript films. But Mirattal has given her career a big boost.
I love acting and taking up good cinema wherever the offer comes. So when this offer for Mirattal, came from director Madhesh, it was a dream come true to work in Kollywood. I will continue to work both in Sandalwood and Kollywood' says Sharmila.
Sharmila says that the director of the film Maadesh had ensured that she had rehearsals for one month before the start of the film. "I had by hearted all the dialogues during that time. It was very useful because once we started shooting it all came easily. I was better prepared to handle the dialogues. So all credit goes to the director.' says Sharmila.
The songs of the film were shot in London. Even Sharmila's first Kannada film was shot in London.
