    Actor Sanchari Vijay and actress Lakshmi Gopalaswamy has bagged the best actor and actress award for the year 2014, while'Harivu', 'Abhimanyu' and 'Haggada Kone' have bagged the first, second and third best film awards.

    Meanwhile, Basanth Kumar Patil has been adjudged for the Dr Rajkumar Award, while Dr Baragur Ramachandrappa has been given the Puttanna Kanagal award and veteran editor Suresh Urs has been selected for the Dr Vishnuvardhan award respectively.

  • Academy Screening Haggada Kone on 5th

    Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy is screening the State award winning movie Haggada Kone on 5th March at Chamundeshwari Studio. Haggada Kone movie is based on a play by Parvathavani.

    Dayal Padmanabhan has directed the movie starring Actor Naveen Krishna, Sihikahi Geetha in lead. Umesh Banakar and Dayal are the producers and Gautham Srivatsa has scored the music.

     

  • Another Award for Haggada Kone

    Dayal Padmanabhan's 'Haggada Kone' being produced by Umesh Banakar and directed by Dayal Padmanabhan has bagged yet another award and this time the film has bagged the 'Festival Mention Jury' award in the 05th Dada Saheb Phalke festival in New Delhi.

    'Haggada Kone' is based on a famous play by Parvatavani and the film is about the pre-independence era. Based on the play, Dayal Padmanabhan has written the screenplay, while Naveen Krishna has written the dialogues for the film. The film was released in last December and has got much appreciation from the audience and many festival juries.

    'Haggada Kone' was first premiered on Bangalore International Film Festival and after that has participated in a total of six festivals and has bagged three awards in the festival circuit.

  • BIFFES-08 to Start from January 28th

    The Eighth edition of the Bangalore International Film Festival is all set to start from the 28th of January and the festival will conclude on the 04th of next month. The film festival will showcase more than 170 films from 61 countries across the world. The festival will be held at the PVR Screens in the Orion Mall along with the Inox Complex at the Mall of Mysore in Mysore.

    The festival will have Indian section along with the Kannada section where in many films including 'Haggada Kone', 'Devaranadalli' and others will participate in the competition section.

  • Dayal Vows to do Meaningful films in Future

    Director-writer Dayal Padmanabhan who is very much happy with the success of 'Haggada Kone' has decided to do meaningful films in the future. 'I have decided not to do out and out commercial films. 'Haggada Kone' changed me. I did not do it intentionally. It happened by chance and while making there were a lot of changes in me. Particularly I decided not to do nonsense films, but try more experiments in the future' said Dayal Padmanabhan.

    Dayal has also planned his next projects and one among them is a film based on a play by Mahadeva Banakar. 'The film is based on the 12th century reformer and has been titled as 'Urulinga Peddi'. The second is called as 'Idu Katheyalla' and the for the third film, I have kept a tentative title called 'Shodha'' says Dayal.

  • Haggada Kone - From Cantonment to China

    Director Dayal is a happy man these days. His film 'Haggada Kone' based on a play by Parvathavani, which started from Cantonment Railway Station was screened at a film festival in China.

    Speaking during the success meet of the film, 'I am very confident to say that my film was not only critically acclaimed, but was also a success. The film has gone to seven different festivals. We first discussed about the story in the Cantonment Railway Station canteen and had a wonderful journey till China. I still plan to send the film to five different film festivals in the future' said Dayal.

    Dayal thanked the media for supporting him during the film. 'Apart from few issues, it was a full happy journey. I got good support from the media. We got double the investment made on the film' says Dayal.

  • Haggada Kone To Noida Film Festival

    Dayal Padmanabhan’s ‘Haggada Kone’ which was first premiered at the Bangalore International Film Festival and later on screened at the Delhi International Film Festival has been selected for the Noida International film festival which is scheduled to start from the 14th of February.

     This is the second year of the film festival and earlier Sharath Kadri’s ‘Sandalwood Sarigama’ was selected for screening in this festival and the film also won an award at the festival. This time ‘Haggada Kone’ has been selected and Dayal is pretty excited about being selected for the festival.

     ‘Haggada Kone’ is based on the popular play by well known playwright Parvathavani and the film is all about hanging. Naveen Krishna has written the dialogues of the film apart from acting a prominent role in the film. The film has been jointly produced by Dayal and Umesh Banakar.

  • Sharath Kumar Watches Haggada Kone

    Well known Tamil actor Sharath Kumar has watched Dayal Padmanabhan's 'Haggada Kone' on Wednesday and the actor is in full awe of the film and its making. Sharath Kumar came to know about 'Haggada Kone' from his Bangalore friends and was longing to see the film. Recently he had called up director Dayal Padmanabhan and producer Umesh Banakar and had expressed his desire to watch 'Haggada Kone' which is based on a play by late Parvathavani.

    Likewise, Dayal and Umesh Banakar went to Chennai on Wednesday and showed the film to Sharath Kumar. The actor who was very much impressed by the film and its narration lauded the efforts in making such a film.
