Who Will Be the New Film Academy Chief? - Exclusive

Names of actress Jayamala and producer Sa Ra Govindu are in the forefront to be named the president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy. After the new government came to power last month, incumbent chairperson Tara has resigned. It is a norm that whenever a new government comes to power, those appointed as chairpersons and presidents of various academies and boards by the previous government put in their papers.
Now, the new chief of KCA has to be appointed and government sources indicate that the appointments will be announced as early as this week. As of now, two senior film personalities are said to be the frontrunners for the post. One is veteran actress Jayamala, who has also served as the president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. The other is Sa Ra Govindu, who also has vast experience in film administration and has fought for the Kannada cause. Both are known to be good administrators. So it is said that either of them will be a good choice.

Yograj Bhat's Kannada-Hindi Movie - Exclusive

The project is not yet confirmed. But top Sandalwood director Yograj Bhat is in talks with a Bollywood corporate firm and a Kannada producer to direct a Kannada-Hindi bilingual film. People close to Bhat know that he is very fluent in Hindi and has even written newspaper articles in Hindi. He is also a voracious reader of a few Hindi poets and big fan of Hrishikesh Mukherjee films.
Sources close to Bhat say that talks for the new film is underway and the announcement will probably be made this month itself.

Actress Shruthi who has been separated from her ex husband S Mahendar a couple of years ago has married journalist turned director Chandrachud on Thursday morning at Kollur. Incidentally, Shruthi remarried on her daughter's birthday.

Shruthi had sought divorce from director S Mahendar in 2009. A few days after she sought divorce, there was a news that Shruthi was in love with Chandrachud. Both Chandrachud and Shruthi had confirmed that they were in love. After a few more days there was a news that Shruthi and Chandrachud has parted ways. S Mahender married Yashodha on 11th Feb 2012

But on Thursday morning, Shruthi surprised everyone by marrying Chandrachud in Kollur.

America America Again by Kishan - Exclusive

From April 29th to May 2nd 2010, Kishan was invited to Chicago from the world famous 'Loyola  University' to come and speak in a symposium on the tough life of poor Indian children. There were many investors who wanted to listen to Kishan's story about poor Indian children and give foreign donations to Indian NGO's. Akshaya Paatre was one of them.
Care of Footpath was screened and that became a basis to send millions of dollars to India for it's poor children. Other than the American community, he met a lot of Indian community (Gujuratis, Punjabis, Hindi, Marathis, Telugu communities) and more than anything, he was given a red carpet welcome by Kannada Communities. Many of them suggested him to make a movie about Kannadigas in America.
Now, Kiran Movie Makers (which earlier produced Care of Footpath, winner of Swarna Kamal & 11 international awards) have applied for a title "America America" from the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and he is positive of starting this movie under his direction. This movie as Kishan says, will go by the Sanskrit shloka "Anobadhraaha Kaithavo enthu Vishwathaha" which means let good light of Knowledge come from anywhere. In this movie, Kishan is going to combine the culture of India with the discipline of America.

Kishan is acting in the lead role. As of yet other star cast and technicians are to be finalized. If everything goes well, they will be doing a single schedule in Chicago in July 2013.
Kiran Movie Makers has already applied for the title "America America". This will be an India and American co-production. Though, Kishan says, this won't be a sequel to "America America" directed by Nagathihalli and signs off.
