CHITRALOKA EXHIBITION AT MYSORE - A Huge Success

B.K. Yedunath, M.P. Shankar, K.M. VeereshThe Kannada film stills exhibition organised by the Mysore Exhibition authority along with Department of Information of the State Government has been attracting huge crowds from day one.

The exhibition was inaugurated on Thursday by Kannada film industry's Veteran actor and Producer M.P. Shankar. The still exhibition is powered by K.M. Veeresh, Editor of the Chitraloka Portal whose exhibition a few months ago in Bangalore was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumara Swamy. The success of the Bangalore still exhibition had encouraged a decision by the Ministry of Information to organize similar exhibitions in various district centers in the state. The Mysore exhibition organised just after the world famous Dasara festival. I.M.Vittala Murthy, Secretary of Information, Government of Karnataka and Mr. Yadunath, Chairman of the Exhibition Authority are behind the 12 day mega event.

After formal inauguration, actor M.P. Shankar said that he had not imagined that he would see a still of a Kannada film that was released one year before his birth. "I was born in 1935, but here there is a still of a Kannada film "Samsaara Nouke' which was produced in 1935. It is certainly a momentous event and for the Kannada film fans this will be a treat to watch' he said.

Yadhunath, Chairman of the Mysore Exhibition Authority said that many film enthusiasts have shown lot of interest in this mega event and there have been huge inquiries about the exhibition. "Over 800 stills of Kannada films some of which have become land marks and some known for their variety is being shown in the exhibition. It is for the fans to see and enjoy it' said Yadhunath.
